Preview is the PDF viewer that comes by default on the Mac OS operating system. With this tool you can view and print both pdf and digital images. It uses the own Apple's implementation of the PDF, the Aqua graphical interface. It also allows Mac users to view many other image formats such as TIFF, JPG, GIF, RAW and many more.

"I'm a big fan of OSX, and yet there are always times when I'm looking for better ways to view PDF files. Once I learned Google Chrome handles it, I figured it was time to embrace it as a handy tool. It works great because it just requires installation of the browser -- if it's not already installed."

"Foxit Reader has been part of my regular setup for several years now. I have tried my share of PDF readers and regularly use about 3 including Foxit. It works really well every time I use it, never a mistake when converting and viewing, and never a problem printing from it. It has great features, ones that for a long time were not provided in Acrobat Reader. This was the full fledged PDF reader we always wanted for years and I stick with it since it was one of the first to do it right."

"I first downloaded SKIM when taking a grad school research course and needed to mark up journal articles. It's terrific. It saved me a fortune in paper and printing as I was and am now able to mark up articles on my tablet and do all my research there. Plus it makes it easy to find what I need later."

"PDF Studio Pro is a good solution for people looking to save money on a PDF editor. In hindsight I probably wouldn't buy it again but only because I can mostly get by with a free reader. But if I did a lot of editing and needed the features of an all-in-one software to do what Adobe Acrobat does, then I'd be happy with this. I had no compatibility issues or major problems."

"I have to got through a lot of legal document for my remote job. The documents are all in PDF format and I have been trying to find the best PDF viewer for OSX to make my life easier. I came across PDFpen9 and gave it a solid chance but it just could not get the job done. The viewer was not very responsive and it ate several of my completed files costing me quite a bit of time. I give this viewer two thumbs down."
