"It's fun to read pirate-themed books that are based on actual real experiences. I enjoy hearing first hand bout how things were being a true pirate and not just how we perceive them from fictional accounts."

"We visited the Lalaurie house on a recent trip to New Orleans and I was so intrigued that after we got home I jumped online to find more information about the place and what really happened there. I found this book on Amazon and ordered in immediately. Read it on my Kindle that same night. A short but interesting read. I more interested than ever to learn more about Delphine LaLaurie and what really happened in that house. I am not totally convinced that she was the one to torture and kill her slaves. "
