There are numerous benefits of listening to podcasts. In fact, it makes you even more imaginative compared to those who don't listen to podcasts. It makes you a better listener, because you as a listener cannot see anything unlike watching a video. Listeners of podcasts are forced to rely on their imaginations to understand the narration. But what's the reason behind these audio-stories becoming so captivating? Turns out, listening to character-driven stories would make our bodies release oxytocin. And in releasing this oxytocin, humans start empathizing with the story. Podcasts have a dramatized audio which can easily stimulate the listener's imaginations. The dramatized structure makes people have more vivid images in their minds. The existence of background music and sound effects increases the mental imagery created in the brain. This makes the listeners pay more attention to the story of the podcast. And like reading, listening to audio can be much more beneficial to the brain. It forces you to imagine and process information much faster than reading. Listeners are creating their own huge production inside their minds according to how they want it to go. Unlike visual media where everything is presented to the audience.

This is only one of the many benefits of listening to podcasts. Other than the wide variety of information that they tackle, the top podcasts could include dozens of topics all over. And with the advancement of technology, people have been spending tons of time on free podcasts, podcast websites, and true crime podcasts. There are tons of resources for podcast lovers and all types of podcast listeners. That's why we should all start listening to podcasts wherever we go!
