Gambling dates back to a time when written history did not even exist yet. China was at the forefront of this vice with various gambling houses spread across the country. One of the most popular ones was the betting on animal fights, lotto games, and dominoes, which were the precursors of Pai Gow. Playing cards appeared in the country as early as the 9th century and spread the world over. In fact, in the US, Poker is considered one of its most popular card game in the country and was developed during the early 19th century. To this day, the card game has remained one of the most popular pastimes by Americans and has even turned it into a legitimate sport and career for others.

Poker is a type of card game where players wage over which hand is best according to a specific set of rules or rankings if you will. Players would make bets based on how good they think their poker hand is against others. In this type of card game, plastic or ceramic discs called chips usually stand in place and represent real money. It's a game that is highly dependent on luck but requires some skill as well in regards to how you "psyche" and "bluff" other players. It has inspired various PC and mobile games, and even movies and TV shows. For now, let's focus our attention on movies about poker. We've made a little list about it that you can check out below. In it, we've included some of the best poker movies that are worth checking out.
