Who doesn't love a good post-apocalyptic anime series? It's a pretty prevalent genre that before was only common in movies or TV shows. Now, it's even made its way into anime. But what is it with humanity and our obsession with our own downfall? Do we fear it that much that we've become paranoid? Maybe because we see that our planet is slowly getting destroyed by our own doing that a post-apocalyptic world isn't too hard to imagine. For whatever reason, one thing's for sure: It makes for some pretty thrilling content. Whenever mankind's survival is at stake, it just makes it even more exciting. From man-eating giants to murderous aliens, the top post-apocalyptic anime have different variations. Some of their doomsday concepts may seem strange but are very intriguing at the same time. A lot of fans consider them to be the best because they're always kept at the edge of their seats whenever they watch. Even the unlikeliest of heroes can keep you glued to your screen when they're fighting for survival just to live another day. Not to mention the fact that it's not just fans who have a good time watching the anime, but the creators themselves are having a blast. Storytellers in anime absolutely love post-apocalyptic settings. It gives them an opportunity to explore the human psyche when exposed to a world that's downright terrifying or too advanced for its own good.     Wolf's Rain is a story set in a post-apocalyptic world. Don't let that fool you into thinking that this is just another dark sci-fi story because it's not. From the animation to the various action sequences, there's a lot to like about this show. Add to that, the riveting story all the way to its beautiful conclusion, it's a must-see show for sure.

    Fans of the original sci-fi manga series have been waiting a long time for the adaptation of this series and it finally came in the form of the Blame! movie. It's a fresh new take on the story complete with amazing visuals and tons of action to go around. Some fans might be left wanting, but it's a great start for future adaptations.

    If you're looking for a good post-apocalyptic anime, this is a show that's often overlooked but it's really worth checking out. You can think of it as sort of a dark fairytale that delves deep into the philosophical side of things. It poses questions like why we live and for what purpose do we live for.
