"This book really grabbed me from the beginning! I loved the supernatural element to this book and look forward to the rest of the series. However, I wouldn't call this book fantasy as much as urban fantasy. There's a big difference in the genres, and strictly fantasy readers would be disappointed with this as a recommendation. I will continue reading this series though!"

"This was rather fun for me as I enjoy the reading about other worldly things such as vampires and such. Easy to visualize while reading so it holds your attention well."

"This reminded me a bit of the book Stardust, in that you have a normal every day character who ends up in a fantasy world. The difference here is that the dark is a lot darker and richer."

"Nightlife is a, well, very interesting book. One that is part of a series, actually. It follows the story of a half fae who has been on the run since childhood and, of course, they want to do all sorts of evil, twisted, sadistic stuff to him. Because....because. It constantly jumps from past to present and it's hard to tell when that happens. Also, side note, the author stopped writing this so the series never ends. I just can't recommend it, honestly."

"Kate Daniels is a great protagonist. She's tough, and funny, but she has some vulnerabilities. This sets her apart from the heroines of some other series. This book has action scenes that are exciting, a burgeoning romance with hot love scenes, mysteries solved and secrets revealed. This is an exciting and engaging book. If you like detective stories, magic, and magical creatures, this series is a must read."

"A very refreshing mystery thriller. At some point these books start sounding all the same as authors get lazy with the formula. This author on the other hand does a splendid job mashing some fantasy and whimsical elements to keep the story entertaining from beginning to end. "

"whoa, this is an interesting read, indeed. The people being killed are convicted rapists, whom many people feel society should be free of them anyway, instead of attempting to recuperate them. The killer has almost no leads, and the detective has a difficult time caring about the cons that are being killed."
