DID YOU KNOW?
For 14 years Project Runway has delighted its fans with its showcase of incredibly talented designers and fabulous sartorial creations. The show has earned 58 Emmy Awards nominations and both Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn won a statue for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program. The two have become synonymous with Project Runway: Klum giving her critiques on the runway while looking flawless, and Gunn sharing valuable feedback as the ubiquitous presence in the workroom. But the 17th season premiered on March 14, 2019, and both were nowhere to be found. They were replaced by Victoria Secret Angel Karlie Kloss and former winner Christian Siriano.
People Magazine caught up with Tim and Heidi and she confirms that the reason for her exit on the show is because of its move back to Bravo from Lifetime. She said that she felt it was time to leave. When the show initially got moved to Lifetime she said she loved the people she worked with, and she thought the network switch was the harbinger for her to move on from Project Runway. But no hard feelings. After 16 seasons, she said that she was incredibly proud of the show and that it will always have a special place in her heart. Gunn said that he too was grateful to Project Runway for putting him on a path he never thought his career would take him. He further said that he was so proud to have been a part of the groundbreaking process that showcased talented young designers as never before. Klum later announced that she and Gunn will be partnering with Amazon for a new show. It’s certainly not over yet for this duo. In the meantime just watch old Project Runway episodes, or get your reality TV fix with these alternative shows.
