 DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that The Game of Life was originally a checkered board game which taught children the importance of living an ethical life? Originally called The Checkered Game of Life, the board game was created by Milton Bradley in 1860. The game's rules were fairly simple, with players navigating on a board which resembled a checkerboard, trying to land on spaces which symbolizes virtuous traits such as Perseverance and Honesty, all the while avoiding negative traits like Idleness and Crime. Another interesting thing to note is that a six-sided top called a teetotum instead of dice, due to it being associated with gambling during that period.

It comes without a doubt that board games were the staple of family game nights back in the day. But with the emergence of video games, consoles eventually took over the pastime, with family games for PS4, Xbox, and PCs being made available to the general public. At the same time, even games that aren't considered as "family-friendly" are being played by families. Said games usually belong to the MOBA, MMORPG, and FPS genre, although other genres may be played as well. Knowing these, it's no surprise that games have brought plenty of families closer together, thanks to their shared interests and hobbies.
