"There is no denying that female writers have a unique take on thrillers. Gone Girl is one of the best to come out in recent memory. Beyond great writing, it takes you to the story and makes it so easy to get lost in the it. "

"The main plot of "The Girl on the Train" is slightly transparent in that it is not terribly difficult to guess who the main antagonist ends up being; nonetheless, there are many small details thrown in that are almost as well-crafted as the main story itself. If you truly enjoy the book, there is a movie based on it as well, though I think it is not as good. It is noteworthy to mention that it is difficult to say this is one of the absolute best psychological thrillers a woman has ever written; that would undoubtedly involve looking at a very large sample of books, some of which I imagine are very good indeed. Some might think it is a modern classic, but I doubt few consider it to be an all-time one."

"I'm sure there are other psychological thrillers out there by female writers that could give you a run for your money. This one isn't anything particularly special, nor is it particularly bad. An interesting read just for something to pass the time for sure."

The last thing her husband yells to her is to say nothing. In chapters that alternate between past and present, the novel slowly unpeels the layers of Clara’s fractured life. We see her growing up, raised with her sisters by the stern Mama and Papa G, becoming a poised and educated young woman, falling desperately in love with the forbidden son of her adoptive parents. We see her now, sequestered in an institution, questioned by men and women who call her a different name—Diana—and who accuse her husband of unspeakable crimes. As recollections of her past collide with new revelations, Clara must question everything she thought she knew, to come to terms with the truth of her history and to summon the strength to navigate her future"

I thought I had it figured out a couple of times only to come to another twisty turn in the saga of Gwen and her children. I personally could not put this book down until I finished it. There were some pretty graphic and violent parts in it, but I tend to like that in a thriller so I loved the book."
