DID YOU KNOW?
While there is cause to rejoice over the fallout between Bungie and Activision, players and fans should brace themselves for what’s to come. There have been speculations that Activision was directly responsible for implementing the despised micro-transaction system which caused massive outrage across fans upon Destiny 2’s release. Not to mention the loot system that catered towards rewarding casual players instead of players who were more dedicated to playing the game. It’s because of this incompetence that the game saw a significant decrease in its core player base. It’s like everybody started searching for shooter alternatives to Destiny 2. However, now that Activision is gone, isn't it safe to say that Destiny 2 will now flourish even more given that Bungie has full control over the game? Not quite.
Crazy as it sounds, the game is in an even more crucial state than it was. There’ll be no need for Destiny tracker apps as we may see a potential drop in new content that's coming out. Bungie announced that it will deliver the previously-announced Destiny 2 roadmap and two more content drops in the spring and summer of 2019 however even with these announcements; it's still unclear if Bungie will uphold their promise. They may be tempted to end it altogether and start fresh with a new game. Also, some fans were unhappy when they found out that all their stuff from the previous Destiny game including mounts, cosmetics, and other collectibles weren't transferred to Destiny 2. Imagine having a collection of the best pulse rifles in Destiny 2 equipped with all the cosmetics that you've earned throughout the game and it not being transferred to the game's sequel. Disappointing, isn't it? One can only hope that Bungie does whatever it can to make the right decisions moving forward.
