DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know that the Punjabi movie Jatt James Bond inspired a real-life bank robbery? Yes, you read that right! After topping the Indian Punjabi film industry, this comedy Indian flick once became a news headline. The bank-robbing incident happened in Baltana just sometime after the release of this film directed by Rohit Jugraj Chauhan. To those who haven't watched this film, it starred Gippy Grewal and Zareen Khan as the lead actors, along with Gurpreet Ghuggi and Yashpal Sharma. And it depicted some funny ways on how to loot a bank as one way of resolving all their problems.
Just by looking at this incident, it is safe to surmise that the story was compelling enough to greatly influence its audience. Well, it should be compelling so as to justify the four long years of making the screenplay and dialogues of the movie. Moreover, it is pretty humorous to think that the writer's journey of writing the script started when he was in a bank with his grandmother. Thanks to the humorous conversation he had with his cousins, the film turned out to be one of the best Indian comedy films of all time. After Jatt James Bond became a hit, the director Rohit Jugraj once again proved this creative prowess when he directed Sardaarji afterward.
