DID YOU KNOW?

Queen frontman Freddie Mercury designed the band's crest himself. The crest shows the zodiac signs of the band members. The symbols are one Virgo, one Cancer, and two Leos. Signifying Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon, and Roger Taylor's astrological signs respectively. Despite that, Mercury himself didn't believe all that much in astrology. Freddie also came up with the name of the band, saying that it's "regal obviously, and it sounds splendid". The performer was aware of the gay connotations of it but that didn't stop him from naming Queen as it is. The band's name was formerly Smile. Composed of guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor, Freddie Mercury came into the picture later on. Queen's road to success was a long winding one. From the beginning, they have been experimenting with their sound. Taking this route meant taking risks, this can be said for their track Bohemian Rhapsody. The song is almost six minutes long which is not suited for radio play. Upon its release in 1975, Bohemian Rhapsody received mainly mixed to negative reviews.

Despite that, Bohemian Rhapsody became one of the band's greatest hits. The band has created songs which are still played on Queen playlists even at present. Each of the band members of Queen has contributed greatly to the rock band's success. Guitarist Brian May composed many songs along with "We Will Rock You" which remains to be a classic. "Another One Bites the Dust" is one of Queen's well-known songs and it was composed by bassist John Deacon. The song wasn't supposed to be released as a single but Michael Jackson convinced them to do so. Queen is also considered to be the best bands of the 1980s, of all time even. Queen had interesting lives, which is partially depicted in the 2018 film Bohemian Rhapsody. Starring actor Rami Malek, who won the best actor award at the Academy Awards for his role as Freddie Mercury.

"Out of all the Queen songs I think there is none other that gets more play than We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions might be a close second with Bohemian Rhapsody not far behind. If you're a sports fan, you're well aware of this song. It just gets the blood flowing, the adrenaline pumping, and the crowd going wild. From the heavy foot stomps and claps, and the chants, you know you just want to get up on your feet and shout it out, we will, we will rock you! No doubt it's one of Queen's best songs, ever. If you're not a fan of this song, what else can I say, you're a big disgrace, now go wipe that mud off your face."
