""Shattered" seems to deal with diversity and representation in a positive way, in my book. Various types of characters feature prominently in the story without being shoehorned in or without feeling overly stereotypical. Romantic and other similar themes are dealt with in a way that is not titillating or too over the top. This should be a model work on how to integrate unconventional minority characters into these kinds of stories."

"The best book about queer superheroes is Lovesick Gods (Lovesick) by Amanda Meuwissen. When an evil Elemental known as Thanatos arrived in Olympus City, it saw the rise of its first hero—Zeus. But the death toll caused by defeating Thanatos changed Zeus, who by day is young detective Danny Grant."

"As the crime fighter named Score, Tom Tyler, the protagonist, plays an interesting superhero character. With a complicated life and a secret he wishes to keep secret, Tom is the complex character that we all love to follow in a good work of fiction. Jon D. Arthur develops his characters well, sets them in interesting plot lines and does a great job keeping the reader in suspense. A good read for all ages."

"Megan Amazon's life was a disaster: terrifying stalker ex, weird celebrity mom, you really don't wanna know. She decided to run, run far, run fast, run... to Wonder City. Wonder City: where an eight-foot-tall woman could try to blend in and make a normal life in a city of superheroes and superzeroes. Where else could she meet up with a retired superhero with a brain-dead son and a daughter-in-law who could fall for Megan's new BFF Simon? Or almost accidentally kill a superhero noob like Nereid, who's just trying to pass her college classes and get into her supergroup, and really didn't intend to fall in love with her (provisional) teammate? Everyone has their secrets. For some people, like the Ultimate and the Fat Lady, secrets are their stock in trade, while others don't know half the secrets they're carrying around. Megan thought her own secrets would be safe as long as she kept one-night-standing her way through the local queer scene, but sooner or later, everything will come out. And everyone will come into their own, whether they want to or not."

"Powerless against you shows a new side to the superhero phenomenon that has taken over US media in the past 10 years. The book paints an intriguing portrait of ten different superhero love stories, some of which feature queer characters. The queer characters in this novel have a compelling story, however since the book is divided up into short stories the book isn't entirely focused on queer superheros. "
