"iRacing is best for those that are looking more for a racing simulator and not just a game. You may have to spend extra to get the great add-ons, but most of them are worth it if you are looking for the best racing simulation available. Highly recommend!"

"Great racing game. I like the variety of cars you get to choose from. Cool graphics. I like that you can choose the track conditions also. You can even race on ice."

WHAT IS THE MEANING

Racing Game (also known as Race Game) is a genre of video game in either first-person or third-person perspective. Basically, the player participates in a racing competition with any type of vehicles (it could be land, water, air, or space vehicles). The competition could be in a realistic setting or entirely fantastical.

DID YOU KNOW

Did you know that the word racecar when read backwards, is still racecar? This is because the word is considered to be a palindrome—a word, number, or other sequence of characters that reads the same backward as forward. As interesting as being a palindrome, racecar as a motorsport is ranked among some of the most popular sports in the United States it is backed up by the emergence of virtual motorsport racing video games today. Atari, a game development company, takes pride in the development of the first racing game in the industry in 1973. Entitled Space Race, this game was built in a simple drag-racing concept that features an archaic black-and-white spaceship. Three years after, the genre has undergone series of development and Crashing Race was released as a game in arcades. Remember when you and your playmates would rush to the arcades and put coins in to play games? It really is nostalgic. According to the data presented by Statista, the genre of racing landed on the 6th place of the most played game genre in the United States in 2017, taking up a 6.4% part of the whole. This 2018, racing game is also among the top video game trends as published on Business Insider, with an upcoming race game landing on the 7th place.

"Great game, and a lot of fun, though I'm annoyed at the price for being a two year old game. On the other hand, the graphics are excellent, and the physics and handling of the vehicles is pretty exceptional. If it weren't for the high price, I'd say grab it now, but you might be better off waiting for a Steam sale if you can."

"GRID 2 has a number of problems that keep it from being one of the best racing games on Steam. Although it looks great, it feels like the development was a bit rushed. Missing timed trials or solo practice mode, missing an in-car view, the controls could be better, so several issues."

"The crew is probably my favorite multiplayer racing game. When it launched it had many game breaking bugs, but over time it has been patched to be a more or less fully functional game. It's definitely a game, more arcade that sim, but for casual drop in play and just tooling around the open world it's hard to think of another racing game that could top it."

"Trackmania Turbo is thought by many to be one of the best racing games on Steam. I can't say I entirely agree as the gameplay left me wanting and was a little "clunky". There are a ton of tracks but some of them seem somehow incomplete or just weren't fully fleshed out. It is pretty fun once you get good at it but it just didn't hold my attention like some other racing games..."

"I'm a long time fan of racing games ever since Pole Position. This one felt a little wrong at first -- not at all what I was looking for in a racing game, what with all the gore and violence. But you know what? It grew on me -- a lot. After being surrounded by idiots in a traffic jam, what could be better than coming home and taking out that road rage aggression without actually harming anyone? It's hilarious."

"Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is incredible. I used to make my living writing software but I am simply blown away with what is possible today. I was looking for a game to allow me to imagine my youth if I could have it all over again, especially with today’s gadgets, and I don’t see them getting any better. I am not a risk taker in life and I worked hard to stay on the right side of the law, but Need for Speed Hot Pursuit definitely gave me the thrill to let my inner daemons out for a spin. I never realized it could be so much fun on the other side."

"I've never heard of this game of the developer so I assume it's an indie game made from an indie developer. This game is certainly different from the standard racing games out there. It doesnt quite compare to Burnout or Project cars but it's definitely a racing game in a niche genre that people may enjoy."

"Overall the game is fun and enjoyable, but suffers from some poor design decisions (such as how the camera functions in the game, and certain control configurations), as well as some issues with bugs. Overall though, it is a solid racing game, and you'll find yourself using the extremely customizable options to build to perfect levels."

"Midnight Club 2 is a very old game but I remember that I had really quite fun with it. I would not consider it as a best racing game since it's competitors' done really great job for the last 10 years, like Need For Speed. I would only recommend Midnight Club game if you are interested in nostalgia. "

"For a free-to-play racing game, Race Room is a no-brainer for one of the best on the PC market. The controls and game features are so realistic that it compares to any other racing simulator you'll find. I found the tracks to be challenging yet consistent, and the game modes to offer hours of content."
