"A decent fantasy novel with a pretty engrossing world, uniquely situated in the old West. Its not something I would personally set aside time to read again, as it is more geared towards a younger crowd, but if you are someone that is interested in novels like the Harry Potter series, it might be in your wheelhouse. Personally, it was a little juvenile for me, as I usually prefer fantasy worlds with a little more of a mature bent, but the world is well developed and the unique setting is a nice touch."

"This book really grabs you. It's like reading about events that have happened in your own life turned into a story with great detail and emotion. The author has a way of being able to relate real human stories and putting them into words. She really develops characters in such a way that we can all relate to them on some level. I loved this book. It's engaging, thoughtful and really quite incredible overall."

"I read this book to try something new and absolutely loved it! The main reason I loved the book so much was because the plot is so unique. I have never read any story that is even close to like this one. I really liked the way the characters were displayed. I also really enjoyed the primary conflict in the book. I think everyone should give this book a read. "

"The Shadow of the Wind is a fantasy novel, however it's set in historic Spain. The main character is the son of an antique book dealer and it just sorta goes from there. It's a refreshing take on a genre that can be considered stale by many. I would recommend you pick this up"

"While this book is a good read in and of itself, I am worried that it may not suit your interests fully. If you are looking for a standard fantasy novel to read and do not worry about realism, by all means pick this one up and enjoy it. However, I'm not sure the world that is set up in this book is one that you can fully buy into upon reading, which is a point against realism."
