"Getting into photography was frustrating for me. It seemed like every photo I saw was better than my photos and everyone seemed to be having a blast. I loved photography but couldn't seem to make anything worth sharing. This YouTube channel helped me relax. It showed me that every photographer has obstacles and it's OK to share imperfect work that you're unhappy with. It also helped give me some perspective: I'm an amateur so try to have fun."

"I find this to be a great source for taking my photos to new heights in appearance. I've learned to use light as a force for better and more interesting photos instead of saturating them with overblown color which has helped me find a new level of creativity inside myself."

"I've been taking pictures off and on my entire life and I have always loved nature photography, but I never had the time or money to take professional classes to learn. While I have learned a lot through trial and error I wanted something more that would allow me to expand upon what I already knew and build on it. That's where 10 Pro Tips for Amateur Photographers came in. I was able to use it to check off things I was already doing and to start practicing things that I wasn't already doing. It didn't cost any money and it came from professionals and was tailored to someone who had no where near the experience making it super easy to pick up on and follow. "

"Snapseed is an amazing Android (4.1 or up) photo editing app that is as close to Photoshop as you can get, plus it is absolutely free! It can literally blend 2 photo's together, and it can almost totally replace a background; heck it can even help you to create new poses for old photographs! My recommendations for improvement on this app would be: 1) A desktop version- any editing is MUCH easier and convenient on a desktop, and 2) Allow the ability to save the work such as to Google cloud drive or to the SD card. I can't wait to see what this app will be capable of in a couple of years!"

"I found this video somewhat revolting but perhaps that's just me. Our society has now embraced narcissism without really taking a hard look at the downsides of it. The "star" of this video was too self-absorbed for my tastes and I just wound up snapping a few selfies without any extra tips needed. I did watch the video but it was mostly "puff" and rather useless as a resource for amateur photographers."

"Just like anything else in life when you are starting out for the first time things can be really hard. I didn't have the money to pay for professional photography classes, but I wanted to have a way to learn on my own and at my own pace. I wanted to be able to create my own style of photography while learning the basics. When I stumbled on Amateur Photography I was blown away by how many free tips and tricks they had to offer and it helped me get out of the gate fast and begin practicing right away. They not only provide step by step instructions in their books, but they also provide a large collection of photographs that really show you how the things you learn turn out in your photography. "

Every year for reasons that I guess only the mysterious of the universe understands I am nominated to play amateur photographer and take the pictures for the calender. Obvious this puts a lot of pressure on me because I want great pictures for the calendar so we can make as much money as possible for the food bank. Watching Sean Cannell You Tube channel has helped me learn and try out different techniques to get the best photo."
