DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know that at least 100 hours worth of videos are uploaded on YouTube by the minute? Arguably one of the most popular and widely-used video sharing and streaming service on the internet, YouTube now boasts a total of over 1.8 billion users per month, disincluding those who have visited the page whilst not logged in with an account. This staggering number was announced by Susan Wojcicki, the CEO of YouTube during its annual advertising event titled Brandcast. Additionally, the number of videos that get watched per day number up to 5 billion. According to a research by the Omnicore Agency, 80% of YouTube users are from countries outside the United States, with at least 62% of the site traffic being male. Moreover, ¾ adults visit the video sharing site for browsing old content rather than news and how-to videos. Another interesting to note is that it caters to a total of 88 countries with 76 languages available in its settings, roughly 9.5/10 of the internet’s population.
Although YouTube’s plans to resume shows that have become hits amongst the viewers, there is without a doubt that majority of the page’s visitors prefer content creators, or YouTubers for short, and music videos by artists, both old and modern. These numbers, along with the its still-growing population and content count, cements YouTube’s status as the most popular video-sharing website.
