Did you know?
Did you know that before Neha Kakkar became one of the judges in the reality TV singing competition Indian Idol Season 10, she competed on the season two of the show in 2006 at the age of 17-years-old? Unfortunately, Kakkar did not win the show because she was immediately eliminated on week three of the singing competition. Despite the circumstances, she made a name for herself in Bollywood, she focused on her playback singing career where she lent her voice to various actresses and launched her first album in 2008 entitled Neha-The Rock Star, wherein the music was composed by Meet Brothers. She also became one of the mentors of the singing competition TV series Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs 2017 before becoming a judge in Indian Idol in 2018. In a statement to IANS, Kakkar said she was thrilled and excited to be associated with Indian Idol as a judge this time because it was the place where her singing career started.
However, ever since Indian Idol has started airing, social media trolls have been making fun of the show. Kakkar became the victim of the trolls after she got emotional during an audition when an aspirant introduced himself as the son of Jagdish Chugh, whom she had worked with during childhood when she used to sing in Jagrans and when she was informed Chugh has passed away two years ago. As soon as the video started spreading in the internet, Kakkar became a laughingstock of all jokes within no time and was trolled on the internet for crying, while haters said she did it only to gain Television Rating Point (TRP) for the show. But, she has made light of the situation by sharing jokes and memes of herself on social media.
