"I have always wanted to visit Japan but have been reluctant, as I can only speak English. Japanese language lessons is somewhat out of the question for me, until I discovered these twenty four lessons. Now I can learn the Japanese language at my on pace and on my designated schedule. I am sure I won't be fluent in the Japanese Language after studying these lessons but I am certain that I will be able to break the communication barrier. Thus, my past desire to visit Japan has rekindled. "

"After trying to pick up Japanese by using nothing but books, it was so much more helpful to hear the language spoken. Trying to understand how pitch and accents play a part in forming different words makes so much more sense when actually hearing someone say it aloud and explain the difference. I would definitely recommend this Youtube channel!"

"Tofugu.com provided me with a wealth of learning platforms, ideas, tools, and other resources to begin and maintain my desire to learn Japanese. This is my main resource when looking for more information, or a new way to tackle Japanese. The resources cover beginners, just trying to navigate where and how to start, all the way to advanced learners on the path to proficiency. If you have always wanted to learn, but did not know where or how to start, Tofugu should be your first stop."

"I tried to like this, but I couldn't get past how closely the teacher resembled the spoof of Ms. Schwan from the humor television show MAD TV. Because of this, I was just too engulfed in a fit of laughter to actually learn anything. Additionally, this Japanese language learning site fails to provide any questionable images of schoolgirls and tentacles, making me question whether it's actually legitimately aware of the country's culture at all."

"The perfect introduction the Japanese language, culture, and social customs. I used this prior to a trip to Japan, having no background whatsoever in either the language or the culture. I found the CD especially helpful to use alongside the book. Seeing the words, hearing them spoken, I was able to pick up many basics to help me navigate my way successfully throughout my trip. And learning good Japanese social graces helped me not to inadvertently offend anyone along the way!"

"Learning a language is difficult for most and especially me. I would love to learn Chinese and I stumbled across "Learn It Now Chinese & Japanese Premier." This book which can be downloaded on multiple computers says that you can learn Chinese and Japanese (Mandarin) in as little as 30 days. It seems like a great concept but, I am a skeptic only because of my previous difficulties of learning a foreign language. However, the price is low enough that I may consider it since it is downloadable and I can have it forever to use and learn. "

"I have been curious about the Japanese language for so long. I really think Japanese are cool, and have such deep culture and traditions that I want to try, but it seems like the book is just for students and probably not geared towards adults. The anime book cover further proves my point. I rather have Rosetta Stone or any other translation service."

"Certainly part of learning Japanese is using the character sets that are native to the language. It's not like European languages, where you just add a few accent symbols to our Roman alphabet, and there you go. The Kana app, for Google Play, teaches both Hiragana & Katakana, in a highly-rated GUI interface. Quizzes and flashcards are included, with options to buy extra content for up to several dollars."
