"Girl meets boy, girl hates boy, girl secretly likes boy... stop me if you've read this one. I know I've read this one. This book was, for me, a basic example of a basic premise played absolutely straight with zero interesting twist or unexpected outcome whatsoever. so what was the point? I'd give this one a pass."

"Remember what pen pals were? I'm not sure how many people are still pen pals in this day and age, but this book is somehow very relevant to this day and age. The writing style is not your run-of-the-mill romance book fare. Only thing is the whole premise is a bit worn, but the good thing is the author is gifted and keeps you engaged throughout the story."

"It may have been a NYT Bestseller, but it wasn't my cup of tea. All of the characters seemed like extremes, and the romantic fantasy just a little too fantastical. Also, the main characters were never really enemies, the lady just reluctant and the guy a little tricky. Bleh."

"As mom to a young teen, I'm torn about this novel. On the one hand, it features what I'd call a healthy romance -- the protagonist makes her own decisions, and you don't find that very often in young adult books. On the other hand -- holy cow, is the sex graphic. Healthy, but really, really graphic."

"Well, I felt that this was an okay read for me. It's not bad or anything, it's just not my kind of book. I'm sure that most will enjoy it though. I'll say that the story is somewhat interesting. I can see why there are many fans to this title. Like I said though, just not my kind of book."

"Story really like the depth that I was wanting. The writer slowly developed the characters in a way that made it boring in my opinion. Stepbrother Dearest is not a book I would recommend."

"Romance books are always tricky, especially when finding specific plot lines like this one. It appears as though we struck gold with this one. The book is purported to be about someone who is indecisive about choosing love over fighting her lover who is evil. The book also has high rating among many satisfied readers. Great solution!"

"A coworker of mine knows how much I love romance books, particularly ones with unlikely lovers. She gave me this book during our office secret santa and I began reading it that evening. Soon, it was 2:00 am; I couldn't put it down! The plot of Angelfall pulls you right in and it has some of the best character development I've seen in a long time. I cannot wait to read more by Susan Ee!"
