"Beatrix is an interesting character. This novel flows in a logical pattern and it also stays away from romance chiches. I recommend this series to anyone that likes historical romance."

"My wife is into these kinds of books so I decided to get her a copy of this one since it had such good reviews. After she had gotten through a third of the book she told me that she didn't like it much and was contemplating putting it down. She said it was too cliche for her liking and the author spent too much time with these cliche bits instead of moving the story along. She never did finish it."

"This is a good dark fantasy read. There isn't much romance or geekery, but I still found it very entertaining. I like the fight for survival element of the dark world setting. It kept it interesting and engaging. "

"This is such an interesting story with such a nerdy lead in it. It's the quirky story of a girl getting involved in a crime that she witnessed. The turns and twist of her story and the romance that develops along the way is quite interesting."

"I thought this was a nice "popcorn" book-good writing without any real substance. I like the characters but Elizabeth was almost too sarcastic and bitter for me. I wanted to like and root for her but the way she is written makes it really hard to do so. I felt uncomfortable when reading this book because of the way the characters are so one dimensionally written. I didn't enjoy as much as I wanted to. "

"I'm not really sure if this fits the bill for what anyone is looking for. Geeky? Your heroine is a vampire, so it's a little overdone but certainly not geeky. That aside, it's an average book. It doesn't do anything bad, but doesn't break records either."

"The book is kind of silly and ridiculous overall, especially the main story and some of what happens there. I was a little turned off by how over the top the book is, but I stayed with it. I can say that most people will enjoy this but be prepared for a lot of craziness. "
