"My 17 year old daughter was stuck in the house most the summer on punishment for bad grades. I picked her up a slew of books since it was looking like a pretty boring couple months besides family vacation. Out of them all she showed the most interest in this one. I ended up ordering a couple others works by the same author for her. Glad she has found a positive hobby in reading."

"Evermore (The Immortals) was not what I had anticipated. It was very 1 dimensional and too similar to Twilight which was a major turn off. There were way too many parallels for me to even see this as a different story than Twilight. Thats all I could think about. "

"This in itself sounds like the beginning of a new book. However please keep in mind that this idea been done many many times and this book would have to be romance as well in order to keep multiple audiences. Keeping romance would appeal to teens I think. As well as some action and adventure to keep it interesting for others if this book is to do well. I like the idea though"

"I liked this book, but I have to admit it's not for everyone. I think it's exciting to read about different, imaginary worlds, and the author of Starkissed does a good job in creating a vivid universe for this story. But if you don't like alien planets and space travel, then you might be turned off by that. I did find the love story to be quite romantic however."

"Yuck. Another stereo type book for young girls. Why cant the girls in these books be anything but cheerleaders and other “girly” type things. Why cant it set in a science camp, or a math competition. Why cant girls reading these books admire someone who is smart and doing something worth while. Cheer leading is a cheap and easy way for the author to convey her “message” with out having to put any real thought or effort into it. "

That being said, the plot seems solid and the reviews are quite positive; so, I can't help but at the very least, give this one my full endorsement! "

"I don't know if my daughter was bored or not, but she certainly wasn't bored reading this book (or the series). She loved it. She said it was well written and interesting. She loved the main character. I would hesitate to recommend this to an older teen (one who likes to read). It's more for the young teen or 'tween,' at least in my opinion. The main character was a 'tween.' "

It also only has a few reviews and while they are above average I don't feel confident calling this the best of anything. For me personally this book would be more likely to make me bored rather than it being something to read when bored."

I decided to break out of my bored stupor and check out this suggestion of The Forbidden Rose. However, I found it boring. The story development is slow and the romance is lackluster. This book was so boring that I realized counting the freckles on my hand is actually very exciting, so I'm going to go do that instead."
