"In my experience, illness often goes hand in hand with sadness. This book, while well written, is a very sad story about womanhood and friendship. This is a story about how we cope when the worst of times hits, and how romantic relationships can pull us through these dark times."

"On the Island is a fun romance novel, but nothing to write home about. It was a fun summer read for me, but not too memorable. The characters are realistic and relatable, but the story itself isn't all that original. While the story deals with hardship and survival, it isn't about dealing with illness. "

"Not sure if this is the best romance book that describes a character's illness. The female main character does appear to have some health problems, but it does not seem like they are alluded to all that much - they are more burdened by other issues that they face. I feel like there are some well-known young adult stories that focus more on courtship and romance than on erotic tension that explore the idea of lovers and partners being ill in a more meaningful and interesting way. "This is not your typical romance novel, and that is just what I needed during that last storm that kept me housebound. Southern society, romance, friends, honor, and the mystery of Hummingbird Cake. Fun and involving enough to keep me turning the pages. "

"My Sister's Keeper is the best romance novel that deals with an illness that I have read. This is a real tear-jerker and I had to finish it in one sitting. Anna was born to provide bone marrow for her sick sister Kate and she becomes bitter about it. This novel will keep you interested and will definitely test your emotions. I loved it!"

"The title of this romance novel would not appeal to many who actively consume romance novels. I mean, I doubt many people would desire to read a book with ninja in the title when reading about a love story. But, if your aim is young men, than maybe it would work. "
