"in my opinion, this is one of the loveliest books ever written. I first read it in elementary school and it completely transformed my perceptions of adult relationships. In particular, it taught me not to judge people based on first impressions, which I think is a valuable lesson to pass on to young adults. The complex sentence structure might be a challenge for some, but overall, I'd highly recommend this to teenagers. The classics are classics for a reason."

"What do you do when you're a killer, but want to be a lover? This book tries to look at that. I found it kind of interesting, but it started good and ended less well. Basically, the premise I thought the author was going to play with was more interesting than where the story actually went. The main character is a bit whiny, and once she meets her love interest it gets kind of predictable. Which is a shame, because it could have been really good if the story had just slowed down a bit and played with the theme rather than rushing into dating scenes."

I didn't really buy into the plot, and the romance angle never quite worked. So, frankly, I recommend passing on this one - there are better books to read with your time."

"Here is another supernatural romance novel in the young adult genre. This is different from a teenager falling for someone experiencing forbidden live. I got through this book quickly but I had a lot of fun. I really loved how Cynthia Hand gradually built the angel lore into this contemporary setting. She wove the world building into the story without it feeling like we were getting a history lesson in the Unearthly world. Clara is a quarter angel who finds out that her "purpose" is to save a boy from an approaching fire. Her purpose is revealed through a series of visions, each time the vision showing her a little bit more of what's to come. The boy she's supposed to save, and therefore completing her life's purpose. I presume there are already college courses on what's up with this obsession with vampires. Maybe 60 minutes will do a segment on it, and I can understand what's going on in our country. But for now, I'm just shaking my head."

It was pretty good, but I have to say that the old feminist in me just sort of blanched at how much the main character needed a man to rescue her. For a young adult, especially the strong, independent women of today - well, I don't know if they'll relate. My adult daughter gave it a go and, although she liked the prose, didn't like the main character enough to recommend it strongly. My reaction is somewhere in the middle. Read it, it's fun. It's just not great. "

The Potion diaries was that for me. Just a book to let my brain rest and enjoy. there is no hidden meaning or reason for things. No hidden meanings. Characters aren’t perfect and they definitely do irritate at times but this is expected heck they are kids and don’t always make the best decisions or act as we want them to. But that is okay because you take it in stride with the activity of the book. The only part I don’t understand is why Sam’s POV is first person but Evelyn’s is third person."

"I think this is a sweet, and funny (and a little sad) romance novel for the teen set. It's a little cliche, but that is exactly what you would want/expect from a romance novel targeted towards teens. It doesn't break any new ground, but there is stuff there that makes you think. "

"This was an interesting take on romance tales, and the use of smell was a genius idea. The sense of smell is one of the strongest evokers of memories and feelings... I'd never heard of anyone exploring this in a story before. It played out well, and my 7th grade class loved it (well the girls did, anyway!)"

    #46Tamed (The Tangled Series)

    Tamed (The Tangled Series)

Tamed is a book by Emma Chase that tells the story of a playboy who met a girl that changed his life. This is not your typical playboy romance story because this shows how they met and how he convinced her to be his love.

"I recently bought the book "Tamed", and I'm really enjoying reading it. It talks about a playboy whose life get changed by a girl he met by chance. A little too much romantic for my taste, but yet very enjoyable, I suggest it to all the tender hearts out there :)"
