"Pride and Prejudice is a classic that has been modernized many times. Unfortunately, during this era a woman's worth was dependent upon her marriage status and husband, and the book illustrates this perfectly. The characters are loveable, but trapped in their circumstances. I didn't find Ms Bennett to be a strong female character as much as a realistic one for the time period."

"Definitely right on the money with this one. This story is very empowering. This is my favorite kind of story to read. If I can find a story like this every few months I'll be happy. Very well written also. I think anyone that likes this genre needs to read this and it will become an instant favorite."

"From rags to riches or even the little mistreated girl grows up to rule the world. Either could apply to this gem. This was a delight to read and share with others. She really picks a winner with sweet Jane and makes me rout for her the whole novel."

"I suppose the heroine is empowered, but it isn't something that I enjoy reading. I would much rather she be empowered by something other than sex."

"I'm a huge romance novel fan and wanted to find something that focused on strong, empowered heroines. I searched around and found this book and decided to buy it. While the plot was decent, the story didn't put as much emphasis on this main female character as I had hoped. This book is okay but not worth the money, in my opinion."
