"The writing is suspenseful, inspiring and downright amazing. I expected it to be more of the same type of occult book but this was and so much more. It was gripping from beginning to end with action and unique interaction on every page. The trilogy compliments each other very well and I would say that all the books should be read to get to the point where this one tops them all. It is exciting and quite graphic though. Definitely not for younger readers. I highly recommend this as I could not put it down "

"This was the first romance novel that I had ever read, and I read it when I was in high school as an assigned reading. Since this was my first ever romance novel, I didn't know what to expect, but it ended up sticking with me for the rest of my life. Now, I compare all romance novels to this one, and quite frankly, this still remains as one of my top 5 romance novels. Jane Austen is someone that cannot be replicated, and her work will remain timeless. Pick up this book if you are at all curious, and it will be an experience unlike any other!"

"This year I've been trying to read more books than I usually do. What this has led me to notice, is that so many books have a male hero that is always saving a damsel in distress. But not this Book! Jane Eyre tells the story of Jane Eyre as she grows from a young girl to an adult. This book published in the 1840s, was ahead of its time as it leads readers to question themselves with thoughts on classism, sexuality, religion, and feminism."

"If someone wanted to find the best romance novel with strong and smart heroines, Amazon is an okay place to search. You can search by sub-categories all the way to Romance, Horror and Vampires. You'll have to search reviews and summaries to determine whether you think the heroine is strong and smart though."

"This is by far my favorite romance novel. I try to re-read it every couple of years. I live in Atlanta, so the references to the city just adds more to the romance. Scarlet's plight always moves me no matter how many times I read this book. Every Southerner needs to add this novel to their collection."

"All the best romances need a love triangle, how better to entice us to care than by complicating who do we want Tessa to end up with. And this novel delivers, magic, mystery, mayhem, and romance all have their time in the sun. I enjoyed every word."

"I'm a huge fan of romance novels that feature a strong female lead and the novel Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles) by Marissa Meyer definitely fits the bill. I really love the science fiction themes here and the main character essentially being a cybernetic organism keeps everything incredibly interesting throughout the tale. I do have to say that the story is a little odd in parts but it has enough twists to keep you guessing and entertained. The romance angle is fairly straightforward but still enjoyable nonetheless. I highly recommend this book, especially if you're looking for something a little different in the "romance" genre."

"Horribly overrated and a slog to get through. The heroine of the story is nothing more than a collection of outdated stereotypes who must still rely on a man to save her. This book tries its best to ruin every advance women have mad over the last 50 years. It's trite and condescending and should be avoided. As I was reading it I kept waiting for that moment when the heroine realizes that she can overcome her difficulties herself instead of always needing a man, but that moment never came. It's a chauvinistic relic that should be forgotten. "

"This book tells a story of romance but does it in a really unique way, and in a setting that a lot of books don't tell it in. If you're into crime and romance, this is definitely a pick for you."

"Ruthless People features a strong female lead character that really shapes the novel. Melody uses fear and the power of her personality rule a mafia family in concert with her husband. But Melody can be difficult to see as a heroine because as a mafia member she is complicit in many of their crimes. All-in-all, although she is a strong and smart character she is difficult to see as a heroine. "
