"If you are a fan of history books and books that are filled with drama then this is a must read. I have read lots of different books on the Holocaust and this is easily one of my favorites. The book is so interesting and so captivating, I never once wanted to put it down. I think this book really explains the horrors of the time period and that is a must read to understand what went on this world not so long ago. "

"The author's unusual playful style is in marked contrast with the supposed character of the narrator (Death) or the realities of the 1940's Germany. The way he brings out the hidden good nature of people like the Mayor and his wife or Rosa or some of the street boys is exemplary. His efforts to show that even during the holocaust, Germany did not have just a handful of people quietly rebelling against the perverted misdeeds but many is not something taken up so wonderfully probably ever in popular writing. ""Bridge to Terabithia" is a mystical novel. Normally, I tend to avoid this kind of novels for they seem overly repetitive, but, I believe the author managed to create something completely unique and new with this novel. I love the friendship depicted in the book for it is pure and imperfect. In this case, imperfection has bred a wonderful friendship that ultimately resulted in Terabithia. This novel will make you cry at times and it is one of the saddest books I've read so far, hence would not recommend it if you're going through something tough or depressed. "

"This is a tragedy from the beginning but it reels you in and doesn't let go, the only complaint is that the character are basically children but the novel's topic is for adults."

"This book definitely tugged at my heartstrings throughout. It's a bit choppy in the middle parts and has a couple of plots that go nowhere, but has a very definable third act that turns on the waterworks to a degree. I've always thought about it as the original Marley and Me!"

"It does have a very high rating on the amazon site. Is it sad? That is certainly unclear from the same site. It does concern teen takes on drug abuse and parent problems. But it is hard to tell if it meets the level of sad like death and misfortune. Not a very clear or good solution"
