DID YOU KNOW?

The origins of zombies come from the Caribbean island of Haiti. It only became known to the West due to the US occupation of Haiti from 1915 to 1934. George Romero released his groundbreaking film Night of the Living Dead from 1968. It became about mass outbreaks where the dead rise up to consume the living. Any cause given is fragmentary and inconclusive, with a cure even more so. The reasons for how and why zombies exist is a mystery, bordering on the impossible. So why has it sparked such a morbid curiosity and fascination for the undead in us?

It's not only in movies that we see this trend rising. The zombie-themed horror genre has also made its way to other forms of media. From The Walking Dead TV show to the long-running Resident Evil game franchise. Our fascination with zombies goes beyond movies. We want to have a more immersive experience and these things provide that. These games started out on PCs and consoles at first that you can play alone. You can also choose to play with friends as there are multiplayer horror games available as well. Now, game titles have appeared on mobile platforms as well. We can now play our favorite scary game on the go now. Now is a good time to be a fan of zombies as there is plenty of material to please your curiosity with this phenomenon.

"A tribute to the highly acclaimed film series in which the above quote originated from, No More Room in Hell (PC Gamer's Mod of the Year 2011, ModDB's Editor Choice Multiplayer Mod of the Year 2011), is a co-operative realistic first person survival horror modification for the Source Engine. Taking inspiration from George Romero's "Of the Dead" series, the mod is set during a time in which the world is on the verge of collapsing into chaos from a disease whose origin is unknown. Many experts and organizations have their theories and ideas on how such a disease emerged and started to systematically destroy our very way of life, but one fact is clear to all. Whoever perishes from the disease gets up and kills, and the people they killed get up and kill."

"I think White Noise 2 is a great solution to scary multiplayer games. Who doesn't want to know that other people are turning white and clenching their teeth in the same game while making their way through a dark place while terrifying sound effects and music are pumping up their heart rates. White Noise 2 lets the player be an investigator or the "bad guy" and that is a great way to look at scary things from both sides and it is really awesome that the players can press the replay button to relive their scary or hilarious decisions."

"This definitely looks like a scary multi-player game! The shark image on the site is pretty scary looking! It says that the action of the game is very tense and heart-pounding! And watching the video if what it looks like when you are playing the game is frightening as well! I don't think I would want to play this game; I think I would freak out and be so nervous waiting for the shark to pop up! But it looks like an amazing choice for people who like scary multiplayer video games!"

"You will enjoy this game better if you play it with your friends. Since it is a multiplayer, we took advantage of it because the servers can be so quiet and boring at times. The graphics are not stellar however the fact that you can choose to be a human or a ghost is an interesting part of the gameplay. Reviewers are right, the environment is truly immersive. However, for me the story line is not 100% compelling."

"For me, this is not a scary movie that is really 'scary', perhaps it is more of an exciting and mysterious game. The mystery that unfolds as you go through the game and the steady frame rate and motion controls arewhat makes it thrilling. This is an episodic game and each episode incorporates an ounce of humor that is really refreshing I must say.  "

This is really scary! Imagine a greasy-haired young girl you meet in front of you!! However, I think it lacks an interesting plot BUT the sound effect of bullet-blasting outweighs everything! It sounds surreal!"

"This one disappointed me a lot, I am a fan of the F.E.A.R. series but this one is a mess, the mouse controls on PC are messed up, the story is really confusing and very non-sensical. And there aren't a lot of scares for this to be considered as a horror game."

"I've played all the resident evil and this was the worst of all, but that's just my opinion. If you want to realise how bad was REV 5 just compare it with REV 4. This is classified as a multiplayer horror game but I was not scared while playing this at all."
