"The hunger games series has proven to be a great success in the theatres, so it only seems fitting that the experience goes even deeper and more intense within the imagination of the reader. This story will take you on a sci-fi journey based upon an element which is somewhat new and refreshing in form and character which is sure to satisfy many."

"Female protagonists are very popular these days, and Divergent has one of the most popular female heroes in novels today. The story of Divergent takes place through the eyes of female star Beatrice Prior. She has to go through many troubling circumstances in order to restore peace to the world. This is definitely a great book!"

"I really don't know. I heard good things about the book from my friends but I just don't get it. The reason I didn't give this book an even lower score is because I stopped 2/3rds of the way through. It's quite a bore, really dull. I found myself having finished a page without absorbing the information and I'd have to reread it only to realize I still don't care. If you like this book, more power to you. It's just not for me."

"If you are expecting little green men, or should I say women, in this sci-fi novel, you will be disappointed. That being said, this is a wonderful example of fantasy. As a fan of both historical fiction and fantasy, this booked was mesmerizing. "

"The world was developed nicely however led you to no emotional tie. I guess this was intended since the society is so cold and calculating. I get it had to be created this way but still... it seemed so flat. The pacing was slow. I didn't find myself really intrigued or connected until I was about 70% of the way through. The character development could have used a lot of work. Cassia seemed very flat and I didn't feel any sort of connection to her at all until almost the end of the story. Again, this may have been intentional because she was so molded and brainwashed by her society, however I would have liked to see more action, more outward fight as opposed to all internal fight or at the least, way more curiosity."

"Sagan's book was a masterpiece. If you'd of told me that Matthew McConnaughey could pull off some actual acting, before I saw Contact, I'd of thought you crazy. But, the proof's in this pudding: Contact is one of the best movie adaptions, bar none. It's inspired me so much in my life, with my love of science and astrology and fantasies of far off beaches where I'll eventually meet all my loved ones. Or, you know, aliens just looking like them so I don't freak out."

"This book is great for young women to read and everyone in general, but if you are looking for a great female protagonist, America Singer fits that description well. The book centers on a competition called The Selection. 25 women compete for a chance to be with Prince Maxon. America is already in love with another man and doesn't find this opportunity appealing, until she eventually meets Prince. Her struggle to deal with her feelings and how she overcomes the obstacles makes for an interesting tale that kept me hooked."

"I wanted a great book with a female protagonist because I am feeling very female empowered and wanted to reflect that in what I am reading. The bookstore clerk suggested Legend, and I have to say that it wasn't really what I was looking for. The story is compelling but I didn't get out of it what I expected."

"This novel is a refreshing update on a genre that often eschews female heroinism. Breq's character is one that resonates with me as she attempts to venge an unjust death. It's simply a character type we don't read enough about: a strong woman who simply will not abide any more injustice and acts to change her world/universe."
