"I enjoy Asimov's Robot novels and this is the first in the series. It's dated in many ways, but forward thinking in others. A bit simplistic, compared to modern science fiction, but not to the point of coming off as banal. Worth reading for fans of the genre, but not as engaging for the modern reader, I think, than other alternatives. "

"Timothy Zahn is a Hugo Award winner and best selling author, and this book shows why. Jordan, along with his partner Ixil, are hired to fly a ship and its cargo to Earth. Lack of details doesn't deter him, but he soon wonders just what he's gotten into. Not a detective novel in the classic sense, it's nevertheless a clever and entertaining read."

"If you like science fiction at all, The Robots of Dawn and the entire Robot series are must reads. Asimov is of course one of the greatest science fiction writers of all time, if not the greatest. Like all Asimov novels, this is about more than just the robots themselves and explores the impact of technology on humans and society. Compelling and thought-provoking. Definitely worth a read."
