I love sci-fi, and I do love my multi-book fantasy series set in a vaguely medieval time period...but to combine them both would seem like the idea of someone who's eaten some suspicious mushrooms. Somehow, Anderson does it, and does it well. It's fun, engaging, and at the same time pretty deep/historically enlightening. If you like sci-fi but aren't sure about fantasy, give it a go!
