"The Natural Selection (Historical Legal Mystery Series) is a compelling book about a historical event. However, they weave fact with fiction and it can confuse some. Not really my thing."

#4Monkey Town: The Summer of the Scopes Trial

Monkey Town: The Summer of the Scopes Trial
The summer of 1925 in Dayton, Tennessee looked like it would be as boring as every one, but everything changed when John T. Scopes got arrested for teaching evolution. It was specially hard for Frances Robinson, who had a crush on her teacher, and whose trial will make her evolve from a girl to a woman.

"Well written book that tells a complex story in the words of a young girl. Good historical fiction. The book is an excellent way to teach kids how to look at both sides of an argument, and how to evaluate all perspectives of a debate. The author's notes at the end of this book are also very helpful to show students how true circumstances can be fictionalize to give the story a voice."
