"If you are looking for a short novel, The Lathe of Heaven is a science fiction book one you should not pass up on. Written in the 1970's it may be a bit dated for some, but if you can get past the clunky pre-computer technology feeling it is a basically in a 1970's world. It is a good read if you like the speculative and critical way the author describes things as they are. "

"For anyone looking for a "short" classic novel, you can't beat The Old Man and The Sea. Coming in at 128 pages it's a quick read and it's Hemingway so it's a joy to read. Don't let the length fool you, it's a classic for a reason, it's filled with views on life and philosophies to think about."

"Short novels are fun and do not take as much effort as a very large novel. I like the shorter ones because I feel I can read more stories in a shorter time span. Recently I read Heart of Darkness. Heart of Darkness is a unusual read but fascinating how one can become involved in certain industries that are not very moral. I don't want to post spoilers but I think the story was really interesting. "

"Sometimes I just need something quick to read. I Downloaded The Cardinal of the Kremlin to read while I was on a business trip. I am an avid reader of Tom Clancy novels and this is still my favorite of all. A very fast paced, action laced book with a few plot turns to keep you guessing. Excellent book for the first time reader of Mr. Clancy. As we know Mr. Clancy is getting VERY wordy with each new book he writes, but this one he hit the mark. I was able to be immersed in the book on my trip, and not feel as homesick"

"A short and light book that is full of equally shallow, short and light characters who are difficult to relate to. Unfortunately, Maeve Binchy went for a soap opera style drama that had dialogue which simply doesn't occur in real life. Additionally, the ridiculous events that serendipitously occurred just strained the credulity of this novel way beyond the point of breaking."

" I enjoyed this book but I found the ending to be a little bit crammed. There were too many twists, which I think took away from the main storyline at the end. I did really like the fact that Hastings is in this book, I find his love/hate bromance with Poirot hilarious and endearing. These two characters have such great chemistry that it alone can liven up a whole book."

"This is a nice book by classic author, however it is a book of short stories rather than a short novel. I do not believe that this is a good suggestion because a short novel would expand on a story more than a short story."
