Most of us know that there are different kinds of movies for everyone's liking. For instance, animated films produced by the likes of Pixar and Dreamworks animation are for general audiences. But most of the time, their movies are meant for younger viewers. Animated films are one, but feature narrative films are a different story. Then, movies can be categorized by their theme, release year, cast, and more. And most of the time, feature movies have the purpose of entertaining everyone that watches it. It is a hit or a miss, though. Can't please everybody, right? Yet, there is another type of motion pictures — documentary —that doesn't get a lot of attention.

By definition, a documentary or "docu" is a non-fictional type of movie. As the word itself says, this filmmaking practice aims to "document" reality to convey a lesson, to instruct, or maintain history. There are already a lot of documentaries as much as the feature-length narrative movies. One of the most prominent producers of these types of materials is the American TV network Showtime.
