Through the evolution of technology, TVs are now much more sophisticated and intelligent. By the late 2000s and early 2010s, major TV manufacturers have announced production of smart TVs only. This period marked as the beginning of the Smart TV era. It is expected to continue and dominate in the following years. At the beginning of 2016, Nielsen reported that 29 percent of those with incomes over $75,000 in the year had a smart TV, at least in the U.S.
As we are now in the age of internet, it is not surprising that smart TVs are a trend. The reason mainly is because it features a standard TV with some of the features of a computer. It allows users to watch their favorite shows, access the internet and download apps. People can now buy the best smart TVs with web browsers and wifi. This makes make entertainment both enjoyable and convenient. One can watch Netflix and other exclusive cable content through streaming TV boxes with a browser. The smart TV market in the United States with domestic smart TV users is expected to grow to 114 million in 2021 and it is not surprising at all.
