Lentils are edible legumes that can be prepared in a multitude of ways. They are very healthy and are very good sources of protein, B and C complex vitamins, and minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium.

"This is a great solution, as I was needing to get more iron in my diet, and only wanted to stick to plant sources. I added lentils, and I was able to get my iron levels nice and high, and on top of that, I get a lot of other nutrients, too. They taste good, so I enjoy using them as an iron source."

    #2Kale

    Kale

Kale, also known as leaf cabbage or wild cabbage, is a leafy plant that contains tons of healthy nutrients. It's considered as a superfood by some people because when you eat kale you are getting minerals (zinc, potassium, magnesium, manganese, selenium, iron, phosphorous, calcium, sodium), vitamins (A, B-complex, C, E, K), and proteins into your body.

"The facts are ironclad; a plant-based diet is the number one way to stave off cancer, obesity, heart disease, and a host of other deadly diseases. Kale being one of the staple foods to a healthy vegetarian/vegan diet and is absolutely delicious the website provides plenty of healthy recipes. One of my favorite is a dash of olive oil some minced garlic and onion and sautee the kale in a stir fry pan until soft and tender."

    Flaxseeds

Flaxseeds are fiber crops that contain healthy polyunsaturated fats like omega‑3 and omega‑6, protein, vitamin B2, B3, B5, B6, B9, and C, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc. A sprinkling of these seeds over your avocado toast, salad, or basically any dish, may help you stay healthy and get all those good nutrients into your body.

"Flaxseeds have been a vegan secret for a long time, but it's time to let that secret out. They have a very agreeable taste and I'd much rather sprinkle flaxseeds into a dish than take yet another supplement regularly. I highly recommend as a natural alternative for anyone who has concerns about what's really in their pill supplements (as many aren't reviewed by the FDA)."

"Acai berries grow in Central and South America on an Acia Palm tree. The berries themselves are of a reddish purple color and are cousins of the blueberry, cranberry, and other dark purple fruits. The main attraction to these berries that most have been hearing about is there rich mineral, and antioxidant properties. The berries ar rich in magnesium, calcium, potassium, zinc, iron, vitamins A, C, and E, amino acids, and other key nutrients."
