"What girl doesn't want to be surrounded by gorgeous jocks day in and day out? Jordan Woods isn't just surrounded by hot guys, though–she leads them as the captain and quarterback of her high school football team. They all see her as one of the guys and that's just fine. As long as she gets her athletic scholarship to a powerhouse university. "

"Yes, this is certainly a book set to a backdrop of hockey, but it is much more than that. This book is about being a gay teenager in a cruel world, one in which sports are very important and human kindness is scarce. Personally, I found this book to be depressing and distressing."

"A very interesting book about baseball and a young player who dreams big. This is a book that I really got into. I thought that the main character was very interesting and I was rooting for him to succeed. I ended up being very invested in this story."

"I only started reading Miranda Kenneally's works, but I think after this book I'm a fan. The topics addressed in the book are real, and the messages were interesting without being overbearing. The character arcs and transformation of the main character seemed real, and it really brought me into the setting. I'm not entirely sure that readers looking for sports fiction books would find what they're looking for here though."

"Not what I was expecting at all. I thought this was an adult book, but apparently it's written for kids. Maybe the explains the poor character development and outlandish plot. I feel like I got bamboozled. I wish I could return it."

"I purchased Whale Talk for my two teenage kids who normally don't like reading. But I noticed it on the New York Public Library list of best books for the Teen Age and though it was worth picking up. I wasn't wrong. Once my teens got caught up in the sports element of the storyline, they were completely hooked. "
