"Ancient or not, I am yet to see a game that can beat FF9 when it comes too being an RPG. storyline, gameplay, adventures, character design, skillsets, even graphics man! I know its not as realistic as today's game, but everything about this game absorbs you and makes you feel that you are in Gaia. "

"A classic Square Enix game. Looks too much like Final Fantasy, but it's not like that's something bad. LOL Though I have to admit, after playing all Final Fantasy games, Chrono Trigger is a breath of fresh air, because it's plot is somewhat better than all the Final Fantas games. "

"This is a wonderfully made and fun to play game. Aside from the slow and kinda boring start, I enjoyed the 50+ hours that I played with it. The visuals are amazing, the combat, well choreographed, and a good story. There's not much else to say but to go and play it."

Before it became the company that we know today, Square Enix were two separate companies? Enix was a game publisher and Square developed them. The idea of a game publisher and a game developer partnering up sounded good. Talks of a merger were already in the table since 2000. Enix had the financial capacity but lacked recognition in the West. Square was a smaller company but more known due to its Final Fantasy series of games. The success of the Final Fantasy X and Kingdom Hearts in 2002 was the deciding factor. Shortly after the two companies decided to merge and form Square Enix Co., LTD on April 1, 2003.

The new Square Enix company rose to prominence and became the number one game seller in Japan by 2005. Things were not all great after the merger. The creator of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi had some misgivings about the merger. He believed the company had too much reliance on the game franchise. The company needed to explore more avenues to expand its game lineup. While this was true in the beginning, the company has made efforts to expand its game catalog in the years to come. The Final Fantasy Series remains as one of the company's top game franchises. It is being joined by other popular series like Tomb Raider. The long-awaited Kingdom Hearts 3 released recently with Left Alive still to come. Things are looking up for Square Enix.

"Even after over two decades since it first released to the world, I still think this is one of the best RPG and one of the best games to have come out ever. It set the standard for all those that came after it. From the sheer amount of content available to the gameplay, and the story, it was just masterfully done. Here's to hoping that the remaster will arrive soon."

"One of the first video games I played and love! Square Enix is really one of the best game creators and this game proved it. the gameplay, the story and the gameplay and plot on this game is amazing. sometimes it even gets to cluttered that it's hard to track whats going on in a battle, much like in real life. "Marvel's Spider-Man is a great game and I enjoyed my time playing it and the reason for that is it borrows some gameplay cues from this game. From how you travel through the city and the overall fight mechanic is similar. That's not to say that it's a bad thing, this game can still hold its own even by today's standards and that's saying something"

New Disney worlds, keyblades, fun boss battles, and the new attraction flow system make that wait worth it in the end.
