"When you think surfing while it's raining isn't fun, you should try La Union when the rainy season hits the Philippines. The WAVES CAN GET REAL BIG BRO! Like, the current is wild too so easier paddling, and the force of the wave is just WOW. "

    #2Baler, Aurora

    Baler, Aurora

Baler, Aurora is the birthplace of surfing in the Philippines. Containing various wave difficulties for beginners and for skilled surfers. Waves are year-round, the big swells are from October-February and during typhoons approaching the west of the country.

"I consider baler my home outside of my home. The waves are present all year round along the coast of the whole Aurora province. But the best time to surf in Baler is from late October-February where the waves can get up to 6ft in height in Sabang beach, and much bigger along the coasts to the north of Sabang. The locals are very friendly too, and you can ask them to tour you around the surf spots!"

    #3Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte

    Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte

Siargao is the surfing capital of the Philippines, known and placed on the map because of its famous "Cloud 9" where right-break reef waves consist of thick, hollow, and strong waves directly from the Pacific Ocean. Swells are excellent during August-November.

    #4Eastern Samar

    Eastern Samar

The coast of Eastern Samar in the Pacific Ocean is known as the last surfing frontier of the Philippines. With world-class surfing waves of different breaking points, but with only 3-5 surfers in the line-up. Samar is the next go-to destination for surfing.

"I hate crowded beaches like Baler, La Union, and Siargao. It's hard to get your own wave, but in Samar, man, pristine beach, uncrowded area, high flying waves! man, stoked af! Plus, the best part about this is no one is trying to steal your wave from you! The locals are amazing too! They toured me around the surf spots all over. Stayed here for about 2 weeks just to surf every single spot! Best time to go here i think is when there's a typhoon. The waves are firing!!!!"

"I tried surfing here in Zambales, and it's fairly fun! a lot of friendly locals everywhere, and sometimes they said it could get really flat here but it's a good thing I was here last April, and the swell was amazing. They did say that it could get better when the south west monsoon is present. "

"We passed by bagasbas as a side trip to Calaguas Island, and I also tried surfing here. The waves are mostly present the whole year says the locals, but this place was amazing in the morning with glassy and strong waves! I'm gonna try staying in Bagasbas next time instead of having it as a side trip. will surely go back! :D"

"When i went to Manila and asked my friends where the closest spot was, they told me to go to Real. I went here last February and wow, the waves are amazing! The swell was crazy! Though the beaches are rocky, there are beach breaks present anyway. They said when the eastern winds are blowing is the best time to surf in Real. :) Cheap place too! "

"Just because it's kinda far from everywhere else, imma give it a 3 rating. But waves wise, I'lll give it a 5! It gets big as in BIG. Got here when there was a typhoon in the Pacific Ocean threatening to enter the Philippines, and the waves were definitely FIRING! I got stoked! Worth the trip and the money! Not a lot of people too so it is a great place to go to :D"
