"Visual Studio Code is one of the best text editors for programming. I'm not a programming expert as of yet, and found the interface to be intuitive and useful. It also has support for a number of languages so the program will allow me to grow in my knowledge as I use it! There were a couple of small glitches but nothing major. It also wasn't a "bloated" editor in that it didn't take up too much space on my computer. Highly recommended!"

"I like that Vim is free to use and open source. It's also extremely customizable as far as text editors go. It initially seemed like it was going to be very difficult to figure out how to learn, but once I got the hang out of it, it has been a very useful and powerful tool. Also, you may as well learn to use it, because it's everywhere - almost every server/linux machine has a version of Vim."

"There's a reason that Atom is called A Lot Of Memory; it is not a good text editor. It barely runs, and in a world with simpler options and also much more robust options, Atom sits a weird middle ground where it's much less useful than Vim but needlessly complicated compared to commercial text editors."

"As a super nerdy programmer, I typically am always looking for better ways to code! This Sublime Text editor has given me this opportunity to code a bit easier and more cleanly because of its editing features. Another great feature of this program is that the developers continually upload fixes and updates to help make this platform even easier to use! If you code, try this out today!"

"I'm sure everyone who has used a computer has used the old Notepad a time or two. Notepad++ takes the Notepad experience to a new level. It adds more features for the advanced user. It has a WYSIWYG interface that makes it easy for printing. I use it a lot and have found the zoom in and out tool very helpful. "

"Emacs has been around forever and it is still one of the best options for a simple and effective programming text editor. If you are sick of your complicated IDE and are looking to give something new a try, Emacs is worthwhile. I have been using it as my standard text editor since college and see no reason to change. It is a fully extensible platform so even if your parameters do change, emacs can change with you. Oh yeah, and its free."

"Being a Software Developer, choosing the best editor/IDE is one of the greatest hassles because each editor has things it excels in and others in which it falls short. Komodo Edit is my favorite because it has the best features, supports all the languages I'm interested in, and loads so fast for such a feature-packed application."
