Majority of the best Thai movies like Pee Mak loves to include spooky plot lines and feature ghosts. Other popular Thai horror films like Shutter, The Eye, Coming Soon, and Art of the Devil film series also received international success.

Another popular Thai film genre and what probably takes the crown, are Thai action films. The film, Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior starring Thai actor and martial artist, Tony Jaa paved the way for Thai action films to be recognized internationally. Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior with the U.S. title, Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior was directed by Prachya Pinkaew and was released in 2003. Tony Jaa was internationally named as the next big martial arts star for his performance on the said film. Other popular Thai film genres aside from horror and action are comedies, animation, crime, historical, and gay films.

    "Had a crush on Lynn while watching this. Who would have a thought that simple cheating can go to international scale? Anyway, although the plot is doing something bad, there's still a lesson in this film. You might be surprised at the end."

    "Compared to Nicolas Cage version, both have the "style". I didn't even know that it was a remake so I watched the original movie. Since it was directed by the same directors, I can say that the production aspect was handled well."
