For Star Wars geeks, the upcoming 'The Rise of Skywalker' film will surely cause some uproar. Episode 9 is gonna be epic and if you told older fans that Emperor Palpatine would be returning, it would probably be very confusing for them. Palpatine just used the Dark Side
A scene that parallels Palpatine’s death depicted in a Star Wars comic? This just might be the teaser for his return on Star Wars IX. Probably, he didn’t really die on the Death Star and he just used the Dark Side to stop his fall to death.
The Mandalorian set up Palpatine's return
Set between The Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, 'The Mandalorian' debuts just before the release of Star Wars IX. This causes some fans to theorize that this sequence has something to do with Palpatine's return.

Anakin's spirit is inside Rey
Although quite confusing, this theory suggests that Emperor Palpatine has put the spirit of Anakin inside of Rey. If this is proven, a lot of explaining would have to be made as this would confirm that the force inside of Rey is indeed dark.
