What are the best Thor comics?

If you ask most people today who Thor is, they would probably think about Marvel. Its series of films within the appropriately named Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), has helped it reach a wider audience and brand recognition. The MCU owes a lot to Australian actor Chris Hemsworth for his superb portrayal of the God of Thunder. Outside of the movies though, a lot of people know very little about the iconic comic book superhero and his back story. Allow us to change that and give you a short introduction about Thor Odinson. His character was actually based on long-established Norse mythology and its deity of the same name. Thor is the Asgardian God of Thunder who possesses the enchanted hammer, Mjolnir. This grants him the ability to fly and manipulate weather on top of his already established superhuman abilities.

The character was created through a collaboration among Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, and Jack Kirby. He first appeared in the comic book, Journey into Mystery #83 which was released back in August 1962. He has starred in various limited series and on-going series since then. Thor is also a founding member of the Avengers, yes, the same superhero team that appeared in the MCU. If you want to know more about Thor, there is plenty of reading material available to you. Have a look at the list of some of the best Thor comics down below and start reading. Tell us which was your favorite one in the comments section as well.
