"This does look like an interesting time travel book but I don't think I would consider it to be the best one of all time. I would have expected something from Jules Verne in that case. It does have pretty good reviews though but I'm not sure I would be interested in the romance part of it."

"I found this to be a pretty middling sci-fi book. I wasn't crazy about the heavy Christian themes, especially. While I realize time travel isn't exactly realistic, you really need to have a LOT of suspension of disbelief for the time travel in this novel. Definitely not one of the better time travel books out there."

"Catherine Friend did NOT mess around with this novel. The time-travel-to-1085 device isn't just a flimsy setting change like many lesser romance novels, she goes all in with the implications of a modern woman sent 900 years into the past and did a surprisingly amount of research on the Moors and Spaniards. Not to say that the book is leaden or too focused on world building - the story is funny, fast-paced, and the romance is done tastefully. This is a lesbian story, though it's so PG that I can't see the average person being turned off by it."

"The authors knowledge about artifacts and history really add a great deal of depth to this fantastic novel. He blends myth and fact, fiction with reality, and does it so masterfully that you may go looking for an actual history book to see what was real and what was fantasy. Both during and before WW2, the US and Germany were dabbling into Time Travel. I won't give away the rest of the story, so grab it and see what happens for yourself!"

The best part about it is the concepts regarding time travel actually sound reasonable, making the story far more compelling.
