Isn't One Piece a staple in your go-to anime list? Commonly, Otakus out there include this, together with Dragon Ball, Naruto, and Bleach. And you know the reason why! But just in case you haven't seen an episode of this anime TV series, you might find yourself amused by Monkey D. Luffy. He is the main protagonist and perhaps the most famous pirate in the world (or at least in the parlance of anime).

Did you know that the manga version of One Piece has more than 800 chapters? By the way, Eiichiro Oda is the brilliant mind behind this masterpiece. He is the one and only writer of the manga. But wait! The anime adaptation is also keeping up with more than 700 episodes. So if you are one of the new aspiring Otakus out there, once you sail and go on board with the Straw Hat Pirates (that's what Luffy and his gang are called), there's really no turning back! Since its inception on October 20, 1999, the show still continuously produces episodes following the life of Luffy. Welcome aboard!

"I try to keep my kid away from comic book superhero stuff. It used to be a relatively innocent hobby for kids but now it's big business. They get their hooks in your kid for one superhero in one medium and the next thing you know your kid is asking for books, comic books, tv shows, movies, lunch boxes, shirts, etc etc. It's never ending with these people. Nevertheless, the kid finds this stuff on tv sometimes. This particular show is really bad. Lazy animation, bad voice acting, unoriginal stories."

"SpongeBob is hilarious and anyone who disagrees just needs to watch it more. There is enough adult humor included that you'll find yourself laughing along with your kids and there are some surprisingly emotional episodes. I love this show, my 11 year old loves this show, my 2 year loves this show, my husband loves it and so do my parents. It's a classic."

"Captain Tsubasa is a great Japanese cartoon. My kid loves watching the episodes over and over. While it is soccer themed it is not overloaded with sports. My child isn't even a soccer fan but he loves this cartoon. I just wish there were more available here in the US. I recommend this cartoon to anyone with children weather or not they are into sports!"

"Adventure Time is definitely a great television show for children, and everything you could want to watch with them. I personally heavily enjoy watching Finn and Jake with my son, and even find myself laughing a lot of the time also. It's easily accessible too, with 8 seasons being ready to stream on Hulu. Perfect for fall viewing!"

"Pokemon is actually a pretty positive show for children to watch. It encourages kids to persevere in their endeavors and to be social and form supportive relationships with others. That said, it does also glorify violence and materialism, to some extent, but a lot of kids' shows have fantasy violence and product tie-ins."

"While I find Paw Patrol more than a little annoying, my kids wholeheartedly disagree. They love this show and it is something that I don't feel the need to hover as they watch. I'd recommend it and say it's a great show for kids, just keep that remote handy so you can turn it down on the sly."

"In the same vein as classic shows like Superfriends, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Power Rangers, ordinary kids with extraordinary powers rule in this show. What kid from any generation wouldn't fantasize about such a thing? Great mindless, but wholesome entertainment, for the kids."
