"This is a pretty good read, that seems like a familiar tale. It's really quick to get through, and the story is interesting enough to get you to turn the next page. I enjoyed it enough to pass it on to someone else, usually if I don't like It, I just donate it. "

"For an Urban fiction book this is a quick read and a good story if you like the genre. I'm not a huge fan but I did find the book engaging and finished it while awaiting my flight to Cleveland. I left the book on the plane maybe someone else will enjoy the read. I wasn't much on the drug lord aspect thought."

"True to the Game is an absolutely great read if you're into tales about the brutality of urban life. Teri Woods really brings her "A" game with this entry and gives you quite the satisfying conclusion in this third book of this trilogy. However, if you're interested, make sure you first read the previous two books or you won't really know what is going on exactly. The book can be an emotional roller coaster and it'll keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. It is truly a great "page turner" and I cannot recommend it enough."

"Nervous: A Novel is an interesting read. It is one of the better urban fiction books I have read this year. The characters are developed well and the story has a good flow to it, but it didn't blow me away. It was enjoyable but not the most original book I've ever read."

"This book was a new world for me, but I recently started dating someone who loves Urban fiction stories. I bought Mad's Love (Raunchy) for her, and she was stuck in her bedroom for days reading this. She then told me to read it, as a good example of what the genre represents. I honestly had a great time reading this, and a lot of parts were funny to me. It is not a boring read, and it gives you plenty of action to chew on as a reader. I still don't know much about Urban fiction, but I do know that my girlfriend loved this book and so did I."

"I have to say, I'm still not totally sure what constitutes an "urban fiction" book; it looks to maybe have some sort of racially-based connotations, though I don't think this means that only certain groups can write that sort of work. It's more like an account of a dying man telling his life story. The individual in question had lived an interesting life with some difficult experiences that I think would not be out of place in what I suppose would be a more stereotypical "urban novel". I found it to be an emotional and engaging book, and I think the average reader will agree, even if they don't exactly find what they expect."

"It sometimes reads like some twisted, intentionally drama filled, reality tv show. But, I'm a rural white girl, so what do I know? It is definitely engaging, and I think I like-hated 90% of the characters. I know I wanted to scream at every one of them at one point or another during the book! If nothing else, it is written in a voice you don't often see in printed books, so I'm giving it a thumbs up."
