"Historical fiction is not my favorite, but the little I do read tends to be set in Britain. So I can say with confidence that The Moonstone is not among the best there is in this category. While it has an important place in history, it is far from a fave."

    #3Bleak House

    Bleak House
This book by Charles Dickens was published as a serial between 1852 and 1853. It narrates, via Esther Summerson and an omniscient narrator, the lives of many characters, who are inspired in real-life people, something characteristic of Dickens' style, and that are used to satirize the English judicial system.

"Charles Dickens is considered one of the greatest novelists of the Victorian era, and this historical fiction set in Britain is one of the best of its genre. Bleak House exemplifies Dickens' mastery of comedy and satire and stands as an important work. I thought the size of the font was quite small so that's a potential drawback for some, but otherwise this is a tremendously fun read."

"I thought this was an interesting and unique supernatural book! It definitely was a different spin off your typical vampire or werewolf story, and I really enjoyed the creativity as well as the interesting setting in Victorian London. I would say give this a try even though it might not look like the typical kind of book you'd read. You might find, like I did, that it was a very fun and enjoyable read."

"Clockwork Prince is a fantastic novel…if you know what’s going on. If you’re looking for your standard Victorian historical fiction, take a step back and read the first book in the series first. You’ll be much happier if you understand what’s going on and where this (spoiler alert!) disaster of a love triangle came from. Take it from someone who already made the mistake once and read the series in order. Would have given this five stars if I hadn’t been so confused. "
