"I think h.264/mpeg-4 is the best video codec because it's the most commonly used format. Since it's the most commonly used it is great for making videos since it is compatible with most softwares."

"While 3GP is a widely use video codec that can get file sizes very small, it does make videos a bit blurry on Todays larger screens. If you need to encode video that can be played on a lot of mobile platforms, 3GP is still the way to go."

"The Xvid coded is very useful. It is free and does not contain ad-ware. It runs swiftly and does not take up a lot of space on your pc. It is convenient to be able to play the compressed videos on most devices/ This is because it is very versatile. Most platforms, video players and even home entertainment devices like televisions are able to handle it. It can compress at 200:1, saving space and time. The picture quality remains excellent. "
