"I thought this was a helpful video. The youtube uploader even managed to take apart the laptop and fox it physically, rather than just correct software issues associated with the wifi. It was very helpful to use the physical fix if the software method doesn't work."

"This video is a good solution if you are having wifi issues due to having many neighbors nearby where you live and their signals keep interfering with yours. It discusses an app you can download that can help and gives you step by step instructions to solve this issue. It doesn't discuss other issues though so it won't solve all problems that may be occurring."

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that the first laptop was invented in 1981 by Adam Osborne, a Thailand-born British man? Even though it weighed 24.5 pounds and didn’t have a battery pack, the Osborne 1 is considered to be the world’s first true portable computer because it can be hand-carried. The Osborne 1 came with a 5” CRT monitor, two floppy drives, and ran o the CP/M 2.2 operating system. At the time, it was worth $1,795. It wasn’t until two years after its release that the term “laptop” will be used to refer to portable computers, as they can be placed “on top of the lap.”

However, the true precursor of the modern-day laptop was the NEC UltraLite, released in 1989. The 5-pound computer looks like today’s laptop, with a keyboard at the base and a hinged screen that allowed it to have a “clamshell” form factor. The UltraLite was called a “notebook” and not a “laptop”, owing to its size that was comparable to a sheet of A4 paper. Back then, the term “notebook” was used to distinguish thinner and lighter portable computers from their bulky laptop cousins. Another notable progenitor is the Compaq SLT/286 that was released in 1988. Over the years, laptop computers improved in terms of both software and hardware.

"What a useless article! I tried following this, and it was just stupid obvious. Like, figuring out which device is causing the problem? If everything worked, and now it doesn't, on a single computer, why do I even... augh! Such a stupid article! My 4 year old nephew could craft a better guide."

The article was straight to the point when all I had to do was to reset my modem in order for a wi-fi connection to be available on my laptop."

"A pretty generalized statement for what to do if you can't get internet from a computer/laptop. It's not condensed and requires a lot of reading but has a lot of information which is good. But these are all simple fixes and don't really elaborate on it. Overall, it's a good first link but may not fix the issue."
