"This troubleshooting guide is helpful if you're having issues with your headphones in windows 8. It goes through some of the basic steps that you should look at first before you start fiddling with advanced settings. It didn't help me, exactly, but it gave me a really nice starting point."

"This a youtube video that runs for 1:13 minutes. If your headphones are not working, then you will need to turn up the volume on your speakers, because the voice of this narrator is very quiet and kind of garbled to listen to. If you have a hard time understanding the speaker, expand the video description below, where the steps are delineated in text. My first question: Is there such a thing as "Windows 10 Headphones"? Apparently, 724,589 viewers know of this thing."

"I didn't find this solution viable at all. This doesn't fix my headphones so it doesn't help me. Unless the issue is to have your headphones and speakers working at the same time, this video isn't for you. It's goof information to have but not specific enough for the issue. "

"Most of the information in this article seems very basic and obvious to me. It also covers Windows 7, which is a fairly outdated OS that many people do not use anymore. If I was having trouble with such a basic computing task, it seems more likely that I would also being using a newer OS, I would think. Therefore, I don't really see who this article is actually for."

"I have found that the majority of time when I have a problem with my headphones, it is because I have not pushed the plugs in enough. Nine times out of ten it is the one on the earpiece that needs pushed in more and then voila, it works. When I have had problems with the computer speakers not working, I do like to use HP Notebooks PCs information to help me. As long as your computer is not too old, the information will work."

"Coincidentally, the last time my headphones broke I actually tried to use iFixit to fix my headphones. I followed the two different guides on there and I had absolutely no luck whatsoever. I'm giving it 3/5 because I can't be sure if it was my headphones problem, my problem, or their problem as to why it wouldn't work. That being said, they still had the information there for me to try, and the database of things is huge, so that's a bonus."
